(Ideally this first observation should be on a lesson you both teach.)

7. With your mentee, plan and conduct two focused observations of other teachers (inside or outside UA). Following each observation, process the observation with your mentee.

-2nd observation by April 30th
Inform the RE coordiantor of the date, time, place and name of teacher to be observed.

8. Complete observations of your mentee which lead to professional growth. (November and February) The observations should include:
• a preobservation conference
• observation of 30-45 minutes
• a post observation conference
• all associated paperwork
• a written summary/feedback to your mentee. (Written feedback report is shared only with your mentee.)
• follow up conference to discuss observation feedback and to set goals including a sequence of steps and time line.
• complete, with your mentee, an Observation Verification Form ( can be found in both the mentor and Resident Educator notebooks). Send it to the Peer Assistance Specialist. DO NOT SEND THE WRITTEN REPORT.

9. Use the ODE Goal Setting Process twice during the year (can coincide with the two formal observations in Nov. and Feb.)

9. Make other informal observations of your mentee as needed and provide feedback.

YOU AND YOUR MENTEE ARE GRANTED 3 PROFESSIONAL DAYS TO USE FOR OBSERVATIONS, CONFERENCING, AND PLANNING.
